Reflect on the importance of shared experience and physical interaction as part of an ideas generation and testing process?

Shared experiences and practices in any environment have loads of benefits and can really help with identifying a start point, working out new ways to work and move forward. For me shared experiences can really help me identify new ways of approaching projects through understanding how every individual experienced and understood what was going on differently. Shared experiences lead me to consider new angles and approaches through understanding other peoples perspectives. As well as this physical interaction can make a huge difference with my work, interacting online has a very different impact to physical interaction for me but physical interaction feels much more like I am able to connect with the people around me about their work and ideas and helps me understand their approaches better. At the testing stage of a project both these are both vital as I am still trying to determine ideas, practices and materials and this is a clear way to do that.

Reflect on ways you might expand on the exercises you have done today to advance your own process. How might you integrate collective experimentation into your own practice in part 3?

The task today what really intrigued me and interested me in my practice was listening to someone eases sound and visualising it. From this I identified that every sound for me I associate with a colour and so had strong visuals for this and have chosen to try and experiment with this further. I want to look at continuing to listen to sound, or even reading things and instead produce a visualisation for each of these that expresses the sound, narrative or emotions. In terms of continuing group experimentation I might ask multiple people to listen or read the same thing as me and visualise it and try and understand their different means of visualisation to move my work forward.
